When you get the chance, exchange enough money. You can exchange money at the front desk at your hotel. We quickly ran out of money when we tried to exchange currency. What if ATMs ran out of money? People from our group thought the ATM was giving an error and tried multiple times, but it didn’t dispense any while charging the bank for each attempt. Moroccans also don’t accept traveler’s checks. Cashing them is difficult.

The best way to learn about the country and navigate through the maze of the medinas (old towns) is to hire a local guide. Make sure you know what you’re getting into, however. Local guides have relationships with many different stores, so they probably get a cut of the sales. Don’t believe them when they say they’re trying to help you haggle for the best price. Getting better prices without them was possible.
Number 7. Morocco’s trains are reliable and affordable
As travelers who have visited several countries where rail transportation is overcrowded, outrageously expensive, or completely unreliable, we are generally cautiously optimistic. The trains in Morocco, however, run on schedule and are not only comfortable but also extremely affordable. From Casablanca to Fes, first-class train tickets cost just 195 Dhs/person (~$20 USD). You’ll be sitting in a large, comfortable seat in a 4-person cabin with plenty of legroom and storage. Second class can be cheaper, but you won’t have an assigned seat, and it can be very crowded.

Generally, guys can dress however they like, but women should dress more conservatively. Although many tourists dress however they want, we chose to cover up as much as possible to avoid unwanted attention. It is possible to get harassed even if you are traveling with a group of guys. Despite being paired with a male buddy, some girls in our group were groped repeatedly. It mostly happened in crowded places and usually happened to really old men. Visiting mosques require covering up to your ankles and wrists. Keep a shawl/scarf handy for ladies (this reversible one is great for traveling).
