Madidi National Park stretches from the Andes to the Amazon. With over 7,000 square miles of land, Madidi is one of the world’s most biologically diverse parks. There is a chance that visitors to Madidi will see an elusive jaguar, a giant otter or the titi monkey, a species of monkey found nowhere else in the world. Number 3. La Paz

The administrative capital of Bolivia is La Paz, while the constitutional capital is Sucre. La Paz, located on steep hills at about 3,650 meters above sea level, is the highest “de facto” capital city in the world. La Paz is spectacular from the air as one flies into it. At first, we see the sprawling slums of El Alto, giving way to the sight of La Paz itself, clinging to the side of what appears to be a large gash in the ground.

In Bolivia, Tiwanaku is one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire, located near the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca. During the 7th and 9th centuries, the community became an important regional power in the southern Andes. Between 15,000 and 30,000 people lived in the city at its peak. Despite only a small part having been excavated, Tiahuanaco is the greatest pre-Inca achievement in megalithic architecture. It is one of Bolivia’s top tourist attractions today.
